This man dedicated six months of his life to planning what’s being called the world’s most elaborate proposal
A Lamborghini, chartered helicopter, romantic horse ride and handwritten love poetry were just some aspects of what’s been dubbed the world’s most elaborate proposal, organised by Robbie Hayek. The love-struck Casanova spent six months planning to pop the question to his girlfriend of five years Clarice Maatouk.
Australian school teacher Clarice was collected from her classroom in a Lamborghini and driven to Bankstown Airport. On the way they took a detour to where a road had been transformed into a street parade with drummers, fire breathers, Latin dancers and street performers. Following the performance Clarice was whisked away on helicopter to Glenworth Valley on the Central Coast.
From the helicopter to horseback, a guide led Clarice through the woodland on a horse. Robbie had signposted the trail with love poems and cards. She arrived at a clearing with a marquee where a saxophone performer was playing her favourite song We Found Love.
The sides of the marquee were drawn up to reveal Robbie who proceeded to get down on one knee and propose. After all that, an emotional Clarice said ‘yes’ through her tears.
Having worked in the wedding industry Robbie said he called in dozens of favours but if he had to pay full cost of everything he estimated the proposal would have cost about $50,000 —excluding include the engagement ring which cost more than $15,000.
We can’t wait to see the wedding!
