WJ attended Harrogate Bridal Show to find out what the top bridal trends for 2016 are. This is what we discovered…
It’s all about the bling
There were literally thousands of new dresses on display at Harrogate Bridal Show, in all shapes and styles. As we moved from one wedding dress exhibition to another, we couldn’t miss one common factor – which was of the course the bling.
Dazzling dresses are in for 2016, think diamantes, sequins and Swarovski crystals. From head to toe glitz, to plain dresses with a blingy broach, belt or back detail, there really is a style to suit all tastes.
And the back
There seems to be as much emphasis on back detailing as ever; detailed illusion, low cut and backless, and strings of pearls over bare skin. Dresses that really caught our eye are the Mark Lesley gowns pictured.
Black is in
There were A LOT of black dresses on display in Harrogate’s exhibitor stands and on fashion runways. Rather than all-over black designers have opted for black lace over white, a black bodice paired with a white skirt (or vice versa), and black illusion paired with nude underlay.
Coffee and champagne
Mocha, late, cappuccino – coffee coloured and champagne shades are very much on trend for wedding and bridesmaid dresses.
2016 collections featured lots of lace as this popular trend continues.
Satin is set to make a comeback next year, particularly in A-line styles.
Romanian company Bien Savvy caught our eye for their quirky wedding dresses.
