Love is in the air on the Emmerdale set with two sets of co-stars, Mark Jordon and Laura Norton and Fiona Wade and Simon Cotton, getting engaged over Christmas!
Mark Jordon, 53 met Laura Norton, 35 when he arrived on the set of Emmerdale in 2014 and the pair have been together since July 2015 and occasionally post loved up photos on their separate Twitter accounts.
The pair, who play Daz Spencer and Kerry Wyatt on the Soap series, announced the news in a New Years Day tweet on Mark’s profile, with the actor saying ‘Well 2018 had some of the highest highs and lowest lows. Really got to feel the love of true friends. Feel blessed by the support of my children and elated to have heard the word ‘yes’ from the most beautiful woman in the world @lawrencenotrin’
Mark has been married before, to actress Siobhan Finneran, known for Downton Abbey and Benidorm, and they were married from 1997-2014 and have two grown children. The children are still a huge part of Mark’s life, with Laura also striking up good relationships with them. This is important to him after a tough year for Mark, who recently pleaded not guilty to attacking a pensioner and was granted bail – his trial will be in July of this year.
Onto the next couple
Fiona Wade and Simon Cotton confirmed their relationship six months ago with Fiona posting a loved up photo on her Instagram feed.
They met on the set of Emmerdale where Fiona is a regular, and Simon had a role as an estate agent, so while there was no love story on-screen, sparks were certainly flying off-screen!
The pair have had a whirlwind romance and ended the year on a high with Simon popping the question!
Fiona wrote ‘two days ago this beautiful man asked me to be his wife. There has never been an easier answer to a question… Yes! Feel so incredibly blessed. Wishing you all a wonderful 2019 & so much love for the year ahead.’
Messages of congratulations quickly made their way to the happy couple, with co-star Mark Charnock, who portrays Marlon Dingle, writing ‘Wonderful news!!! Congratulations lovely Fiona. What a way to go into 2019. Xx’ and Michelle Hardwick, who plays Vanessa Woodfield, commenting ‘So much love for you two.’
