After a highly anticipated wait, Pippa Middleton married Fiance James Matthews in a stunning ceremony on Saturday morning at St Marks Church, Berkshire.

The couple exchanged vows in front of family and friends with a young bridal party of eight before the newlyweds left for their reception at Bucklebury Manor on the grounds of the Middleton family home.  The little sister of Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, looked every inch the beautiful bride in her bespoke gown with a picture perfect English countryside theme.

The Dress

Pippa wore a breath-taking high neck white lace wedding dress, by British designer Giles Deacon. Giles, who was highly tipped to be the chosen bridal designer reported to the Telegraph Online: “I was thrilled to work with Pippa on her wedding dress”… “the dress is constructed with a cap sleeve, high neckline and features a corseted bodice with draping to the front and a heart-shaped detail at the back… the bespoke silk cotton lace was hand appliqued to create an illusion of the dress having ‘no seams’”.

He continued “the lace bodice is embroidered with pearl detailing over an organza and tulle underskirt, which has layer upon layer to enable a floor sweeping movement”… “It’s a privilege to show the craftsmanship that my team produces in London and a real testament to Pippa’s support of British fashion”.

Pippa also donned a tiara by Robinson Pelham and Ivory heels by Manolo Blahnik with pearl detailing.  Her face was covered with a delicate bespoke tulle veil embellished with pearls and made by milliner Stephen Jones. As for Pippa’s ‘something old’, she wore her Robinson Pelham earrings that she donned for sister Kate’s royal wedding in 2011- it is said the acorn and leaf design represents the Middleton family’s coat of arms.

We absolutely adored Pippa’s effortlessly elegant and classic choice, which suited her traditional countryside venue perfectly.

The new Mrs Matthews then changed into a second dress of the day, with details emerging that it was a white V-neck sweeping gown with jewel embellishments, complete with her hair being let down into soft tousled waves.

The Reception

The newlyweds celebrated in a lavish reception in a £100,000 glass marquee in the grounds of the Middleton family home.  It is reported by the The Mirror, that all the catering staff at the reception were glamorous models.  It is also said that Pippa and James paid homage to their love of travel, as they named the tables after places the newlyweds had visited.

There was no expense spared at the reception, with features such as a luxury whiskey bar, caviar and magnums of expensive champagne. Guests were also treated to an aerial performance by a super marine Spitfire, a fighter jet used in WWII, before they danced the night away till around 4am.

According to Hello! Magazine, a sumptuous spread was laid out for guests, with many having had trout for starters,  lamb for mains and cheesecake for dessert.

The Guests

Kate and husband Prince William featured heavily on the day, with Kate (although not an official bridesmaid), acted through bridesmaid duties in helping Pippa fix her train and veil before walking down the aisle. Prince George and Princess Charlotte stole the show in their adorable ensembles, where they served as page boy and flower girl in their traditional outfits. Prince George certainly kept everyone entertained at the church, having been seen having a little toddler tantrum he perked up for the remainder of the day and was back to his usual cheeky self, waving at guests as they past. An insider told The Sunday Times “Prince George was being very cheeky and playful, entertaining the bridesmaids and he seemed to be hugely enjoying himself.”

The Sunday Times insider also said “It was an absolutely gorgeous atmosphere,” and “The bride looked stunning and [her dad] Michael looked puffed with pride” as he gave her away.

Princess Eugenie and Prince Harry was also among the royal guests, with his American actress girlfriend Meghan Markle joining him at the reception after a 100-mile dash to pick Meghan up from Kensington Palace and bring her to the reception.

Overall there were over 300 guests in attendance at the reception (150 at St. Marks Church) with celebrities including Rodger Federer and Made in Chelsea star Spencer Matthews. Spencer is the brother of the groom James, and received lots of attention of social media for his suave looks!

The Honeymoon

James and Pippa are supposedly jetting off to the Society Islands in French Polynesia, located north of Tahiti. They are believed to have picked romantic and secluded Tetiaroa, a sleepy isle that was previously owned by iconic actor Marlon Brando- and could set you back £3,000 per night!
