Wedding Guest Summer Fashion Trends
Hot seasonal looks for summer weddings
Summer occasion wear trends for the wedding guest and mother of the bride from Evelin Brandt, Belfast
We can’t imagine a nicer way to spend a Saturday than a delicious lunch at Deanes at Queens in Belfast, followed by a new season fashion show from one of our favourite boutiques, Evelin Brandt.
The Craving Fashion event hosted by Elevin Brandt was the perfect opportunity for us to see the latest summer looks for wedding guests and mother of the bride in all their glory and our wish-list was huge!
Here’s some of our favourite trends for the summer wedding season:
Black & White
Make sure there are no grey areas in your wardrobe this season’s mono styles. If monochrome isn’t your style, mix black and white with bold graphics prints in colours that pop for a more interesting take on this key wedding trend.
This trend makes a come back every single summer, but it’s because we all love it! From delicate to bolder prints, muted and bold, there’s a floral bouquet to suit every wedding guest.
Remember the scale of the floral pattern should suit your frame e.g. a large floral pattern may look overwhelming on a petite woman and a miniature pattern can look too dainty on a curvy lady.
If the floral pattern is not repeated in the same way all over the dress, pay attention to which part of your figure is being highlighted by the print once the dress is tried on.
Although stripes feel like they never go out of fashion, this season they are supersized and when it comes to colours, the more the merrier!
This spring we’re seeing lots of dresses paired with cropped jackets with short or ¾ sleeves.
Old Hollywood glamour
The charm of fifties and Hollywood glamour has been restored by designers in their 2016 collections. Look out for fabulous floor sweeping fitted styles, tea-length dresses with nipped in waist and wide skirts, and gemstone embellishment.
Before going shopping talk to the bride about the wedding theme and consider the venue, to figure out which style of Hollywood glamour is most appropriate to wear to their wedding.
