Alannah McGurk, daughter of Irish TV presenter Miriam O’Callaghan and retired sports anchor Tom McGurk, tied the knot to fellow barrister and former Galway footballer Fiachra Breathnach on Saturday.
The Beautiful Bride looked a vision in her stunning ivory silk gown by designer Dawn Fitzgerald, complete with fishtail train and lace detailing.
The couple exchanged vows at the Holy Cross Church, Kenmare, Co. Kerry where the father of the bride and his daughter arrived fashionably late for the ceremony. This was then followed by a lavish reception at the five-star Sheen Falls Lodge with 180 of their family and friends.
There were six bridesmaids including Sisters Georgia, Clara and Jessica and friends Rachael, jenny and Claire who all donned beautiful rose gold tinted dresses, whilst the mother of the bride Miriam opted for a red one shouldered structured piece. The best man was Fiachra’s brother Ferdia, whilst groomsmen Ciaran, Matthew, Steve and Edward looked sharp in their suits.
Not the only Irish beauty to get married, RTE’s 2FM host Lottie Ryan, the daughter of late RTE anchor Gerry Ryan, married in an intimate ceremony to her long term beau Fabio Aprile in Italy on Saturday.
In front of just 40 people, the loved up couple chose to celebrate their nuptials in the Italian village where Fabio grew up. They had previously secretly wed in a Dublin registry office in March, having been together for over a decade.

The fairy-tale celebration look place in a small church in the sleepy village of Casalattico, midway between Rome and Naples where the doorway was adorned in an arch of ivory roses and church bells echoed through the village. The venue was a quaint yet romantic chalet style venue called Relais Chalons D’Orange nestled in the Italian hills. Lottie looked sensational in a white sleeveless gown and long veil creating a sleek and modern look. The groomsmen sported tuxedos and the bridal party donned gold satin dresses to complement the Italian sunshine
Speaking to RSVP magazine, Lottie said of her wedding day: “I don’t think I had any nerves to begin with. I think the only nerves that come in to it is that you are hoping that you have planned something that all your family and friends will enjoy….In the same way you’d be nervous planning a big party or birthday for anyone. I’m not a professional party planner so you’re hoping everyone has a good time and that they enjoy it as much as you, but I didn’t have any nerves otherwise.”
As the evening drew to a close, guests were treated to a fireworks display with the Italian flag flying high on a parachute.
Congratulations to both Irish brides and their new husbands!
