Tom Cruise & Nicole Kidman banned from daughter’s wedding
A-lister’s Tom Cruise & Nicole Kidman were banned from their daughter’s wedding despite Tom footing the bill
Tom Cruise and ex-wife Nicole Kidman were banned from attending their daughter Isabella Cruise’s wedding. Isabella was adopted by the couple shortly after they married back in 1990. The pair adopted son Connor in 1995 before divorcing six years later, both children went to live with Tom full time.
Isabella recently married her British boyfriend Max Parker in a ceremony which represented her Scientology beliefs, held at upmarket hotel Dorchester in Mayfair, London. Despite mum Nicole being in London at the time of the wedding for filming of Photograph 51, she was asked to stay away.
Amid widespread speculation as to why Isabella barred her parents from attending her nuptials, a friend told the Daily Mail the reason was Isabella wanted to avoid a ‘media circus’ on her wedding day. Isabella’s brother Connor was not invited either.
Isabella, who works as a hair and make-up artist at Vidal Sassoon in London, was introduced to Max by a mutual friend last year. The wedding ceremony is said to have featured a combination of Christian and Scientology practices. Max doesn’t follow his wife’s beliefs, although his groomsman Fabiano Calciolo is a renowned Scientologist.
A source told the Daily Mail:
The ceremony was low-key but very expensive. Tom picked up the bill and paid for everything, but it was decided that neither he nor Nicole should attend as it would have turned the whole event into a circus.
Nicole was actually involved with the wedding preparations and she did have a private dinner with Bella and Max. But she didn’t go to the ceremony. Also, the animosity between Tom and Nicole was probably a factor.”
