Royal Wedding Update: New Details Released!
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding day is just shy of 12 weeks away and details of the royal occasion have been rolling in.
As we all now know, the wedding will take place in St Georges Chapel a mere six months after Harry romantically popped the question to Meghan. The pair have certainly been busy planning for the finer details of their nuptials, with further details being revealed to the public this morning…
The Marriage Service
It has been announced that the marriage service, in the castle’s 15th Century St George’s Chapel, will be conducted by the Dean of Windsor, the Right Rev David Conner, before making their wedding vows in front of the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby. Kensington Palace have confirmed that the service will last one hour, beginning at 12pm and finishing at 1pm.
It has been revealed that Prince Harry and Meghan will go embark on a ‘carriage procession’ through Windsor after tying the knot, giving eagerly awaiting fans and locals a glimpse of the royal couple. In a similar fashion to Wills & Kate’s wedding in 2011, the newlyweds will make a two hour journey after the ceremony, which will pass through six streets before returning to Windsor Castle, according to details released by Kensington Palace.
They will travel down Castle Hill, along the High Street and then along Sheet Street, King’s Road and Albert Road, before returning to the castle along the Long Walk. Following the parade, Prince Harry and Meghan will re-join guests from the ceremony, with a reception at St. George’s Hall before Prince Charles hosts a party for the couple in the evening, as he did at William and Kate’s wedding in 2011.
