Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Step Out Post-Engagement
“I knew she was the one”…
The world woke up to some exciting news yesterday, with Kensington Palace confirming the engagement of Prince Harry and American actress Meghan Markle. The world went into a right royal frenzy as everyone eagerly anticipated the first glimpse of the newly engaged couple.
The loved-up pair stepped out together yesterday for their first public outing to officially announce their engagement following 16 months together. They beamed for the cameras and posed hand-in-hand in The Sunken Gardens at Kensington Palace, one of Princess Diana’s favourite gardens, to greet press and share their exciting news.
The couple looked the absolute picture of happiness, and Prince Harry gushed that he is ‘thrilled’ to be marrying Meghan, confessing that he knew she was ‘the one’ from the very first day they met. Meghan smiled as she showed off her spectacular diamond engagement ring, which contained a diamond from Botswana – a place close to the couple’s heart- and also two of Princess Diana’s very own diamonds set in a yellow gold band. A touching tribute to Prince Harry’s late mother.
Meghan opted for a chic and sophisticated look for the occasion, paring a white wrap coat from Line The Label over an emerald dress and nude lace-up heels. Naturally, the designer label’s site went into meltdown as avid royal watchers tried to get themselves a coat just like Meghan’s! Our imaginations are already going wild over what Meghan would choose for her bridal gown…
The Prince kept his lips sealed on how he proposed to Meghan, stating “that will come later”. Asked whether he thought it was a romantic proposal he replied “of course it was!” The newly engaged pair looked besotted with each other- we couldn’t be happier for the new royal couple- Congratulations!
The couple then appeared on BBC for the first time in the evening to discuss the details of their engagement. Click here to read more details of their exclusive interview and wedding plans.
