Prince Christian of Hanover Marries Alessandra de Osma

While we are all eagerly awaiting the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle – which is just two months away – we got a glimpse into another royal wedding that took place in Peru this weekend. Prince Christian of Hanover (son of Ernst August, Prince of Hanover, and second in line to the throne) and Alessandra de Osma, who is a lawyer and a former model, tied the knot in the Peruvian capital of Lima on Friday 16th March.

Prince Christian, 32 and his fashion-designer bride, 25, officially wed five months ago at Chelsea and Westminster Registry Office, but have only just held their ceremony.  The pair went all-out for the lavish celebration, even hosting a range of famous faces including supermodel Kate Moss with her boyfriend Count Nikolai Von Bismarck and British royals Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice.

The three day celebrations kicked off on Thursday with cocktails at Astrid y Gaston restaurant, the ceremony took place at the 17th century San Pedro Church and the partying ended on Saturday after a celebration at Mueso de Osma in Barranco, a museum of Peruvian art that originated as a summer home for the de Osma family.  During the ceremony, the streets were closed off and baskets of flowers hung from the lampposts as well-wishers gathered to watch the procession – talk about a regal affair!

Alessandra looked stunning in a white lace gown by designer Jorge Vasquez. The dress featured a high neckline, three-quarter-length sleeves and an extravagant train. She wore her hair in a chic up-do, with a veil and the Hanover Floral Tiara, which had previously been worn by Princess Caroline of Monaco. The bride was walked down the aisle by her father Felipe de Osma, who is an executive at Hermes, a Peruvian cash management firm.

The groom dressed up in a regal tux with a dotted blue tie for the big day. He arrived with his mother Chantal Hochuli, who donned a bright pink dress and matching jacket.

The loved-up couple reportedly met in 2005, and remained friends for years before dating in 2011 – a true fairytale romance. Congratulations to the happy couple!
