Prince Charles steps up to walk bride down aisle when her sick father was unable to do it
Alexandra Knatchbull was given away by family friend Prince Charles this weekend. The Prince stepped in when his friend Lord Brabourne, who is Prince William’s godfather, fell ill and was unable to give his daughter away to marry Thomas Hooper.
Charles wore a grey three-piece suit with a light blue shirt and check tie with matching pocket square.
The bride looked radiant in a classic ball gown style dress featuring a chapel-length train, cap sleeves and a lace veil held in place with a tiara.
Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip were also in attendance. The Queen wore a coral jacket with pearl buttons over a floral print dress, accessorised with a matching hat, strings of pearls and a brooch.
The flowergirls were dressed in vintage-style pale pink tulle dresses with ruffle collars, and the bridesmaids wore ivory gowns with bateau neckline, not dissimilar to the bridesmaid dress Pippa Middleton wore when Kate and Prince William got married.
