Pippa’s Wedding: The Final Countdown
Everything you need to know about the most hotly anticipated wedding of the year
Pippa Middleton rose to fame at the wedding of her sister Kate to Prince William in 2011, in perhaps the most famous bridesmaid dress of all time. It is now Pippa’s turn to walk down the aisle, in the most hotly anticipated wedding of the year.
We have been bombarding you all with Pippa news from the moment we learnt of their nuptials, but with the wedding taking place tomorrow on Saturday 20th May final details are being exclusively revealed that you will want to know…
The Ceremony & Reception
Pippa Middleton will marry hedge fund manager and millionaire James Matthews tomorrow in an intimate yet extravagant country affair, with the ceremony being held at St. Mark’s Church in Englefield, Berkshire. The reception will be hosted in a £100,000 luxury glass marquee in the garden at the £6 million manor house of Pippa’s parents Michael and Carole Middleton. The gorgeous structure was reportedly shipped from Belgium, and is reported to resemble London’s famed Crystal Palace. Around 150 guests are expected to attend, with some estimates as high as 350! However, this is a far cry from Kate and Will’s lavish royal wedding in 2011 which had 1,900 attendees.
It is reported by The Daily Mail that the wedding between Pippa Middleton and James Matthews will be a £250,000 Scottish theme wedding, complete with haggis canapes, bag pipe performers and whisky. The couple’s love of Scotland, supposedly comes from the duo spending a lot of time there together due to Matthew’s family owning a castle, 10,000 acre estate and the Glen Affric Lodge, in Lough Ness Highland, where they annually host [pigeon clay] shooting parties. Pippa also has connections to Scotland, having studied at Edinburgh University. We wonder if James will don a traditional Scottish Kilt, or incorporate tartan into his outfit…
The Little Royals
Kensington palace has confirmed that the little royals will be involved with Prince George acting page boy and Princess Charlotte acting flower girl. The Duchess of Cambridge has previously said she is ‘a bit worried’ about how her children might behave at ‘that age’. Nonetheless, we know they are going to be incredibly adorable.
The Wedding Dress
Pippa is rumoured to be wearing a wedding dress by British designer Giles Deacon, as they were seen carrying bags into her house in November. There is also the possibility of Pippa choosing award winning bridal designer Suzanne Neville, having been spotted shopping in her plush Knightsbridge store. A source close to the Pippa’s wedding dress designer told E! News that the dress is “very simple, elegant and it’s all handmade.” With Pippa never disappointing in the style stakes, we are sure she will make a beautiful bride.
According to the Daily Mail, Pippa will be using her sister Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge’s hair dresser Amanda Cook Tucker, where she will create a sophisticated up-do for the big day.
Will Kate Be Maid Of Honour?
The Duchess of Cambridge will not be a bridesmaid at her sister’s wedding day, due to British royal etiquette stating that bridesmaids should be unmarried and younger that the bride. However, Pippa has spoken of how they are ‘extremely close’ and have a ‘normal sister relationship’ where they support each other.
Who is James’ Best Man?
James’s best man is expected to be Made In Chelsea star Spencer Matthews the grooms brother.
With many royals in attendance, Prince Harry’s girlfriend Meghan Markle is expected to attend the nuptials, despite rumours of a ‘no ring, no bling’ rule, having been seen flying into Heathrow airport earlier this week in preparation for Pippa and James’ big day. However, Spencer’s latest squeeze, model Vogue Williams will not be attending the wedding.
We will be eagerly anticipating our first glimpse into the big day tomorrow & all the wedding guest fashion!
