Monaco celebrate a royal wedding as Grace Kelly’s grandson and Princess Caroline’s son, Pierre Casiraghi married model and heiress Beatrice Borromeo in a lavish ceremony this weekend.
The couple who have been together for seven years married at the luxurious Salon des Glaces in the Pink Palace in Monte Carlo. They met while attending Milan’s Bocconi University together.
The 29-year old bride wore two Valentino Haute Couture dresses; a stunning pink and gold lace silk chiffon gown with matching floral crown for the day, and a floor length white layered tulle evening gown with the night-time celebrations. The backless tulle gown featured a racer neck, cloud print with silver embellishment, and delicate cross-back straps.
Pierre Casiraghi is the seventh in the line for the Monégasque throne, and Beatrice is a member of the ancient aristocratic House of Borromeo who own the Borromean Islands in Lake Maggiore, in northern Italy. The wedding was unsurprisingly a lavish affair. Beatrice arrived at Monaco’s Pink Place in a white Bentley for an intimate ceremony with 70 close family and friends in attendance. Over 500 guests attended a cocktail party in the medieval grounds of the palace and an evening reception at the opulent five-star Hôtel de Paris.
The ceremony will be followed by an even more lavish religious wedding in the bride’s native Borromean Islands. The details of Beatrice’s wedding dress(s) for the next ceremony have been kept firmly under wraps; while the fashionista is fan of pink and blush tones, she also loves metallic colours – watch this space!
