Splurge… at Ashford Castle
The five-star Ashford Castle recently hit the headlines as the wedding venue of choice for Rory McIlroy and Erica Stoll who have booked the exclusive-use venue for their big day.
Ashford Castle can cater for intimate weddings for up to 40 guests and larger groups of 164 people. The Bespoke Wedding package offers wedding parties exclusive use of the castle including accommodation in 83 rooms and suites, the restaurant, drawing room, bar, tennis court, private gardens and more. In high season this package starts from €92,732.65.
Wedding guests can also make us of a state-of-the-art spa and indoor swimming pool with terrace overlooking Lough Corrib.
Step back in time … at Belleek Castle
This romantic 19th century Irish castle wedding venue in Mayo is the ultimate setting for a fairy-tale castle wedding.
This enchanting castle is located in 200 acres of woodland and actually dates back to the early 1400’s. Newlyweds are welcomed in the original Great Hall where an open fire roars during the winter months. The venue can cater for small intimate weddings in the quaint Library Restaurant, or large wedding groups in the Hall.
All bedrooms are individually furnished with antiquities and period décor and some have four-poster beds.
Embrace the countryside… at Mount Falcon Estate
If you would love nothing more than to get married in the heart of the countryside, Mount Falcon Estate is for you.
Located along the Wild Atlantic Way route among the rugged scenery of Ireland’s west, this venue offers the ideal setting for a country wedding.
Whether it’s a sunny summer wedding with champagne and strawberries on the lawn, a winter reception with open turf fires and mulled wine, a lavish marquee, or a barbeque with a different, Mount Falcon has a reputation for it all.
On the morning of the wedding brides can get pampered and preened in the spa, while grooms can ease into the day with golf, clay pigeon shooting or fly fishing in the Rainbow Trout lake onsite.
Get married waterside … at Mulranny Park Hotel
Mulranny Park Hotel weddings overlooking the sand and sea. Perched on the hillside with panoramic views of Clew Bay and its idyllic islands, the Connaught venue is just steps away from miles of golden sand.
The Mulranny Park Hotel is licensed to hold civil ceremonies and offers a choice of rooms for the ceremony; the Granuaile Suite and the Nephin Restaurant, both of which overlook Clew Bay and Croagh Patrick.
Facilities include a swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna steam room and outdoor hot tub. The hotel even has its own hair salon and beauty salon where brides can get ready to say ‘I do’.
Have an intimate wedding … at Enniscoe House
Hidden among the woods at the foot of Mount Nephin, the Enniscoe House is just the right size for an intimate, family wedding. The Enniscoe Estate dates back to the 1790’s and the heritage house feels homely and welcoming.
There are two gracious reception rooms, a dining room that seats up to 30 people, and six cosy bedrooms. For a larger wedding party the three courtyard houses add eight further bedrooms.
The drawing room is approved for civil marriages and seats up to 50 people. The gardens provide the setting for stunning photographs. For a larger wedding have a reception in the house then walk a few steps to a marquee beside the house.
All food is freshly prepared using ingredients sourced from the organic market garden in the grounds of the house.
