Teen model Lily-Rose Depp closes the 2017 haute couture show in Paris as the Chanel Bride.
As is customary, Karl Largerfeld ended the Chanel Spring 2017 show in Paris with a signature Chanel couture bride. 2017’s model of choice was none other than the current face of Chanel and daughter to Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis, Lily-Rose Depp.
The seventeen year old sashayed down the runway in a blush pink dropped waist gown complete with ruffled skirt and sleeves. Largerfeld completed the daring bridal look with a high necked, corseted bodice finished with a belt to perfectly cinch in the model’s waist creating an enviable silhouette.
Unsurprisingly the gown has been a huge hit on social media. Posting a snap to Instagram of herself posing in front of a mirror wearing the gown, Lily-Rose described the experience as ‘A dream’ and extended thanks to Chanel legend Karl Largerfeld for the honour.
Lily-Rose Depp appeared on the runaway among other famous faces including Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner. The Chanel collection focused on shades of pink, glistening silver sequins, opulent feathers in addition to garments moulded in an ovoid shape, said to be modeled on Alberto Giacometti’s ‘Spoon Woman’.
The Chanel bridal creation has echoes of a modern, princess style wedding dress – a bridal trend expected to have a huge resurgence in 2017 with brides opting for fuller skirts, in softer fabrics with a fairy tale ambiance.
