Let’s Talk About One Shoulder Wedding Dresses
Why aren’t more brides choosing these stunning gowns?
They are unique, slightly daring and show you’ve got a sense of style, so why aren’t more brides choosing to go with a oneshoulder wedding dress?
Probably one of the least popular bridal choices on the block, the trend for one shoulder wedding dresses has dropped off a bit in recent years but here at Wedding Journal we think they could be making a comeback.
In 2016 brides will be all about daring, statement styles and what can be more daring that not following the crowd?
So we’ve collected a few of our favourite one shoulder wedding gowns for the more unique bride.
One dress that caught our eye at the 2016 New York Bridal week was this stunning creation by Mira Zwillinger. Bringing the look into 2016, this top design house has kept the style feminine with delicate butterfly detailed lace. The single strap sets of the dress and the back of the dress looks much more elegant than had it been strapless.
If the bridal fashion greats are doing it, then we know it must be good! This simple yet graceful design flatters the shape of the model and the full empire line skirt would look amazing on anyone. We love how the bling is kept to a minimum and the simple diamante encrusted belt not only looks sophisticated but balances one shoulder strap.
Now this is a designer that likes her some ‘one straps’, so if you think a one shouldered dress may be for you, this should be your go to inspiration! This established label is rumoured to be dressing both Lady Gaga and Sophia Vergara on their wedding days so you know you’re in safe hands. Her signiature style seems to be more structured looks but she does include a few softer numbers in her collection using the amazing tulle.
A little bit like Jenny Packham with a twist, this designer has produced a sparkly sheath dress complete with a loosly tied one shoulder. Such a versatile look we feel this would suit both a formal function and a destination beach wedding.
