Rugby legend Paul O’Connell gets married to Emily O’Leary in stunning ceremony in French cathedral
A host of famous faces from the rugby world made their way to the Sainte Marie cathedral, just outside Toulouse in south west France, this weekend to see Irish Rugby player Paul O’Connell marry his sweetheart Emily O’Leary…
Ronan O’Gara, Keith Woods, Jerry Flannery and Alan Quinlan all came to see O’Connell exchange vows with Emily, who he’s been with for ten years.
Emily arrived to the wedding ceremony in a vintage Renault with her father Pat. She wore a Chantilly lace wedding dress with a v-neckline, a draped back and small train. She kept her bridal look romantic with a pretty head-dress of flowers and feathers.
The bridesmaids, made up of Emily’s sisters Stephanie and Danielle and best friend Lorraine kept things cool in stunning mint green floral print bridesmaid dresses.
Groom Paul wore a navy blue suit with tan shoes and wildflower button hole. But he wasn’t the only man looking dapper in a suit as the couple’s three year old son Paddy walked down the aisle ahead of his mother in an adorable suit of shorts and a waistcoat.
Outside the church, beaming groom Paul told the Irish Independent: “I’m happy – very happy. It’s a great day and we’re really looking forward to the rest of it.”
After the ceremony in Sainte Marie Cathedral, wedding guests made their way to neighbouring Pressan and to the breath taking 18th Century Chateau Lartigolle where Paul and Emily hosted their French country wedding reception with a cosmopolitan twist.
Congrats to Paul and Emily from us here at Wedding Journal.
