LA Bridal House is an award winning bridal boutique situated on the stunning Antrim coast in Carrickfergus, just outside Belfast.
Wedding Journal Online caught up with the owner, Leagh, who tells us what makes her bridal boutique so special…
What makes L A Bridal House different?
“What makes this bridal shop different is that through time and experience we have learned that building a good and trusting relationship with the brides who hope to find the perfect dress/es with us, is one of the most vital factors for both ourselves and our customers. We have built a great reputation for customer service due to this. Also having a solid background in wedding planning, I have experience in all aspects of the planning process, which the girls and their families who visit us find very useful.
What wedding dresses do you stock?
The bridal dresses we stock come from top, world renowned designers such as Stella York, Martina Liana, White One, White Rose, David Tutera, Blue by Enzoani and Cross My Heart. They provide us with a range of beautiful, contemporary and traditional styles, something for everyone. We try our best to ensure a vast range of styles in store at all times.
For bridesmaids we stock Jim Hjelm Occasions, Noir by Lazaro and Alvina Valenta collections from JLM Couture and we are now also stockists of Sorella Vita from Essense of Australia.
What kind of brides do you cater for?
At L A Bridal House we offer an ample spectrum of sizes to suit almost every need. We are quite well known for our plus size bridal range which is ever growing and we would quite regularly receive lovely feedback from our customers.
What price are your wedding dresses?
Our current collection dresses range from £650 through to £2500 and we have a permanent sale rail with dresses available to purchase from as little as £99. We stock a wide range of price points to cater for all budgets. Our JLM Couture and Sorella Vita bridesmaids dresses range from £200 to £350.
Which wedding dress is your favourite?
From my own labels, one of my long standing favourites would have to be a style by Stella York – style 5708 is an elegant allover lace on tulle fit & flare mermaid gown with sweetheart neckline, lightly beaded lace fitted bodice past hips, flared mermaid skirt, chapel train, with back corset or zip closure option. The sample we have in store is champagne with an ivory lace overlay, giving it a more vintage look. This particular gown can also be ordered in full white or full ivory.
What kind of experience can brides expect?
At L A Bridal House we offer an exciting and casual experience. Greeting our customers with a warm and welcoming attitude, creating an inviting and relaxed atmosphere for our brides so they can feel comfortable and at ease. Where needed we tend to go above and beyond for our customers, providing them with the security that they are being looked after from the moment they enter the shop, right through until their big day.We understand that it is not every day you would attend a bridal dress fitting, therefore we like to talk to our brides, explaining step by step what to expect from their wedding dress shopping experience with us.
Do brides need to book an appointment?
We operate a strict by appointment only system to ensure that each and every bride receives the very best possible, one on one personal service. We would advise the bride about recommended lead times. We recommend to start searching for your wedding dress at least 12-15 months before your wedding date, to be in a position to be ordering at 9-12 months before. This is because the dress you choose can take up to 6 months for the dress to arrive in store, then you’ll need time for alterations to be carried out.
What advice would you give brides who visit you?
We would advise that, during your first ever appointment, to try on as many styles as possible – not as many dresses as possible! This is to find out which particular styles suit you the most, so going forward you are able to limit the amount of styles you are trying on, ultimately giving you the best and least confusing chance of finding the perfect gown for you. Finally, choose carefully who you bring with you to your appointments, as too many opinions can cause conflict, confusion or sway a decision because let’s remember, at any appointment, whether it be your very first or your last of many, you may find your dress – so be prepared and stay open minded.
