Ireland’s Wedding Journal Young Designer of the Year 2016 Celebrity Judging Panel has been revealed
The five finalists in the annual Wedding Journal Young Designer of the Year 2016 competition are busily working on their dress designs ahead of The Wedding Journal Shows in Dublin, Cork and Belfast in January.
A celebrity panel of fashion judges will chose the one winning dress and its designer will be named as Wedding Journal’s Young Designer of the Year 2016 at The Wedding Journal Show, Belfast on Saturday 30th January.
The celebrity voting panel features international wedding dress designer Ian Stuart; leading British bridal wear designers – mother and daughter duo Amanda Wyatt and Charlotte Balbier and Louise Kennedy, one of Ireland’s most successful fashion designers. The fifth judge is a Wedding Journal representative.
Louise Kennedy
Louise Kennedy one of Ireland’s most successful fashion designers, takes a completely individual approach to each commission joining sophisticated brides on a journey to create the ultimate in elegance.
Amanda Wyatt
Made famous for her perfect fit, attention to detail and innovative designs, Amanda Wyatt has celebrated over 20 years at the forefront of British bridal design. Commenting on the Young Designer of the Year competition Amanda said:
I am so honoured to be on the judge panel of these awards. I’ve been designing dresses for over 30 years and it’s inspirational to be supporting young and upcoming bridal designers.”
Charlotte Balbier
Amanda Wyatt’s daughter Charlotte Balbier is passionate for all things feminine and bridal, and her collection create unique looks for the modern bride of today. Charlotte says:
“I love supporting new entrepreneurs so it’s lovely to be asked to judge this competition! I am excited to see what creativity comes through from the entries.”
Ian Stuart
Renowned for his glamorous, luxury creations this international multiple award-winning designer has always had a passion for making women look and feel fabulous. Ian says:
I think it’s wonderful that Ireland’s wedding journal is giving young designers the opportunity to showcase their talent to the bridal world. I believe it’s the responsibility of our industry as a whole to nurture and encourage the next generation of bridal wear designers.
