Throughout the weekend the hall buzzed with excitement as thousands of couples set about planning their dream wedding day. Bridal parties swarmed the exhibition centre choosing everything from the perfect venue to chocolate fountains and selfie mirrors to really get the party going.

The International Catwalk

Three times per day all eyes were on the International Catwalk featuring brand new, not seen in Ireland until now, wedding dresses from leading designers. Featuring world- class dancers and models, the high tempo, energy pumping, fashion show displayed the very latest in wedding dresses, grooms wear, and occasion wear.

The VIP area

Visitors who had purchased a VIP ticket online were treated to a brilliant Benefit goodie bag, a sparkling glass of McGuigan’s Frizzante and a delicious cupcake by NF Cakes. The atmosphere in the VIP area was electric as couples and bridal parties eagerly made plans for the big day.

Best stand award

This year exhibitors pulled out all the stops and the stands were dressed better than ever but it was Appleberry Press who pipped others to the post for their clean and elegant display of quality invitations.

The Bridal Boulevard

A new addition to the Dublin show was The Bridal Boulevard, a smaller catwalk showcasing collections from local shops and designers. The intimate nature of The Bridal Boulevard meant that brides could see brand new 2017 dresses up close and ask questions. The mini catwalk was hosted by Siobhan O’Connor and was jam packed with bridal fashion and beauty tips.

Honeymoon like a Celebrity

For one lucky couple, the Sunday proved to be a momentous occasion as they won a luxurious honeymoon to South Africa. The Wedding Journal Show teamed up with Cape Grace Hotel, Gondwana Game Reserve, Oude Werf Hotel, Ethiopian Airlines and 98FM to offer this outstanding celebrity style honeymoon prize.

Many a tear was shed onstage and offstage when Julie Murphy and Adrian Nicholson won the draw. The couple had not been planning to have a honeymoon due to recently purchasing their first home together and were instead planning to spend some quality time off work at home. Julie described winning the prize as,
