It was all drama last night with a live proposal on Coronation Street – the good news is… she said yes!
It was a big night for Coronation Street team last night as they aired a one-hour live broadcast last night, and it was an even bigger night for Adam, Twitter user @literallyadam, who proposed to his girlfriend with the help of the show.
A message written on a chalkboard on the The Rovers bar read:
Katie Lowe will you marry me?”
Prior to the broadcast Corrie producers asked viewers what they wanted to see on the blackboard at the pub and Adam’s proposal was chosen. Luckily for Adam his girlfriend said yes and he tweeted:
I’m officially engaged, thanks @itvcorrie what a night!!”
Well wishes flooded in for the couple tweeting congratulating them on the unique television proposal and some suggesting they get married on set. One Corrie fan messaged:
Congrats Adam!! So cute! I squealed when I saw the blackboard on the telly and had to rewind to check it again!”
It wasn’t only family and friends contacting Adam, lots of journalists’ tweeted messages for Adam to get in touch to comment on his proposal story.
Meanwhile in soap land, things didn’t go quite so well for poor old unlucky-in-love Sally Webster on the programme last night, when her secret kiss with ex-husband Kevin was revealed. Sally’s furious fiancé Tim stormed out of the Rovers and the show ended with Sally weeping in her daughter’s arms – does this mean the soap wedding is off? The drama!
