Irish teenager Clara McSweeney has gone from Cork to the fashion catwalks of New York in a matter of months, and has just made her runway debut at New York Bridal Week
In a matter of months Clara McSweeney has gone from a school going teenager in Macroom, County Cork to an international fashion model in New York, and this week made her runway debut modelling bridal wear for Naeem Khan.
The 18-year-old moved to the States this summer after being signed by exclusive modelling agency IMG models, who represent big names Kate Moss, Miranda Kerr, Gisele Bundchen and Gigi Hadid. This week she modelled floral themed bridal wear for Naeem Khan – one of the biggest names in fashion.
Clara was spotted by model and Clara agency head, Andrea Roche, during an open day when she was just fifteen and quickly became well established in Irish fashion circles. She has modelled for Penneys, Brown Thomas and other high profile brands.
The Cork beauty had her sights set on the international modelling scene and after completing her final leaving certificate exam in June she was signed by IMGmodels and moved to New York.
The Naeem Khan collection featured embroidered tulle, pleating, fringing and laser cut fabrics, with the metallic of the moment – gold. For a full round up of New York Bridal Week Fall 2016 click here.
