A sneak peek at 2017 wedding dress trends straight from the catwalk of New York Bridal Week
Wedding dresses featuring 3D fabric flowers is a blossoming trend seen right across 2017 wedding dress collections.
Unsurprisingly pretty floral print makes an appearance in time for Spring 2017, from dainty, romantic petals to dramatic oversized blooms.
Floral applique over nude illusion is another key trend.
It wouldn’t be New York Bridal Week without some experimental bridal-wear looks. Theia was a talking point for his otherworldly, Space Age collection, include a galaxy-themed dresses and a moulded plastic corset.
Tons of tulle
A number of designers incorporated pale blue hues for spring and it was the colour of choice for two J Mendel strapless styles; a pleated chiffon asymmetrical dress, and a metallic embellished gown. Angel Sanchez’s stole the show with a gorgeous light blue racer back gown featuring floral applique.
Modern ball gowns
Randi Rahm’s ball gown features a traditional, floaty full skirt paired with a structured bodice which adds a stylish edge. Sachin & Babbi Bridal added an oversize bow to their ball gown style – waist bows made an appearance in Spring 2016 collections and the trend is set to continue into the new year.
2017 designers are going dotty over this one. While gemstones and sequins are the embellishment of choice for 2016, designers have incorporated lots of miniature dots in to next year’s collections.
