Wow, what a day we had yesterday at the Gibson Hotel in Dublin to celebrate the winners of the 2013 Wedding Journal Reader Awards – our heads are still spinning with the excitement of it all!
Over 180 of Ireland’s leading wedding experts were invited to attend the stylish afternoon event in the sumptuous surroundings of this city centre hotel.
Guests were greeted by a Champagne reception and serenaded with a selection of smooth jazz tunes from the Bentley Boys before being ushered into the beautiful Stratocaster suite for the awards ceremony.
Inside, the tables were set for an ‘urban’ themed afternoon tea menu that included tantalizing finger sandwiches and scones, and a selection of irresistible sweet treats, such as Strawberry Tartlet’s filled with Crème Anglaise and Pistachio & Chocolate Macaroons.
After an official welcome from publisher Wynn Penton, our gorgeous hostess for the afternoon, Sinead Desmond took to the stage and announced it was time for the winners to be revealed. A quiet hush fell over the room and the anticipation reached its climax as Sinead introduced the first of the 18 categories.
