Ballymagarvey Village

Ballymagarvey Village is a beautiful private estate in the historic Boyne Valley.

Our wooded grounds and adjoining Victorian walled garden are surrounded by far-reaching views of the rich farmland and native forests of County Meath.

Ballymagarvey is conveniently located only 30 minutes from Dublin and 90 minutes from Belfast.

Our warm, homely18th century Manor House with its medieval round tower, is set around an open Courtyard. We have lovingly restored the former flax mill village to an exceptionally high standard

Transforming the historic outbuildings into charming spaces for both intimate and large wedding celebrations.

Drawing inspiration from the best local and seasonal produce, our Chefs have designed exceptional banquet menus. Offering innovative modern cuisine, our dining experience combines gourmet food with unparalleled service.

A BRIEF HISTORY

Ballymagarvey is steeped in history dating as far back as the thirteenth century when Princess Gwenllian ap Iorwarth (daughter of King Llywelyn of Wales) married William De Lacey (son of Hugh De Lacey) of Meath, and inherited Ballymagarvey after his death in 1233, and later Sir Christopher Bellew, Elizabeth Wood, and Francis Fleetwood.  Many couples have started their married lives together here like Thomas and Melinda Osborne, Robert and Henrietta Clouston, and more notably Sir Thomas Ainsworth who married Lady Edina Hope Conyngham (daughter of the Marquis of Conyngham, Slane Castle) in 1911.

All of these people, in their own way, have added to the rich and vibrant landscape of Ballymagarvey, spanning centuries of romance and new beginnings.

For 800 years Ballymagarvey has been touched by such a human endeavour that our promise is to continue this tradition of excellence by providing a unique environment where guests can come together to celebrate their special day in such enchanting and mystical surroundings.
